The Nickelodeon Slime City has arrived in Atlanta. Is the Atlanta’s Nickelodeon Slime City experience worth it? My 6-year-old (Raylan), 1-year-old (Rylan) and I all took a trip to slime city to see if it would live up to it’s hype.

I first saw the event advertised on Instagram and I didn’t think much of it. I ignored it and then I saw an ad pop up on Facebook and decided to look into it. It looked like an event Ray would enjoy so we purchased tickets. Once purchasing the tickets, I decided to look at reviews to prepare myself and the reviews were mixed. Some saying it was worth it and some saying it’s not worth the money.

As soon as we walked into the building of Slime City, Raylan was jumping for joy and ready to see everything. It was very organized, clean and the staff was so friendly. We checked in, received some really cool passes and waited in line to experience the Slime City.

As we waited, we noticed all the little details in the front area with all the characters on the wall and the store that sat to the side of the entrance.

The door opens and it was time to start our journey. We had a little orientation to prepare us for the experience.

We were given this card that added a scavenger hunt experience to our journey. The kids would go room for room looking for the character and letter and the staff would put the letter on the card for them.

We went to the first room. The first room spelled out Slime and my 6 year old was able to touch and see the slime. He loves slime and enjoyed this. They even handed out napkins to wipe your hands after touching the slime.

We went through several rooms like the Great Wall of Slime and Slime Light Club. Each room had something for the kids to enjoy. Rylan had a great time in the Slime Light Club room where he had the chance to write on the walls. Raylan said he couldn’t pick a favorite room.

I forget the name of this room but I really liked it. It had these huge inflatable balls that the kids could push around.

Ray loved the Kids Choice Awards room because he has seen it on TV and he wants an award. Maybe one day we will actually get a chance to go to the Kids’ Choice Awards.

Our last activity was the chance to get slimed ! Our 6 year old was very nervous but decided to do it. I couldn’t join in on this experience because you have to be 2 and older to be slimed so I had to be with the little one. They give you a poncho and you take off your shoes and socks. We waited in line a few minutes before we had a chance to see the sliming room. Once we got in the room to get slimed, the emcee was very entertaining and telling jokes.

Once the sliming was over, they gave out towels and we exited back to the front where the store was. The store was just in the corner of the room and had shirts, caps, bags and of course slime ! We bought 2 small jars of slime for 10 bucks. You do have to use a credit card in the store.

Once going through the experience, I have to say it was totally worth it for me. To see my little one light up and have a huge smile on his face meant a lot. It was a great experience and a lot of fun. They do have other add ons as well that we didn’t do like the chance to make your own slime and a VIP add on.

It took us about 45 minutes to get through everything. The staff was so friendly and engaging. It had the right amount of interactions and engagements for my 6-year-old and 1-year-old. They were not bored and enjoyed themselves.

The ticket price is $29 and that is on the costly side as it doesn’t provide much entertainment and you can get through the rooms rather quickly. I’m not sure if this would be as fun if my kids were older. The sliming was the best part but you’re only allowed to do it once and it happens so quickly.  This was definitely a one-time adventure for us.

The location is in a shopping plaza so there was plenty of parking and lots of good places to eat too. It is MARTA accessible and only a 15 minute walk from the Buckhead train station.

All in all, I think it was worth it for us.  You can’t put a price tag on experiences and lifelong memories. I’m not sure if it lived up to the hype because it’s so costly and there are so many other attractions in the city where you really get your money’s worth.  I do feel that this event is a little overhyped. My boys had a great time and I guess that’s all that matters.
