Wysa App Review

I was in search of an app that had positive quotes, breathing exercies and calming music in an effort to relieve stress and relax. I wasn’t sure if I would find such an app but I did. I lucked up and found Wysa, a stress, depression & anxiety therapy chatbot app. This blog will be a Wysa App Review and my thoughts on the app. 



What I like about Wysa is that it provides a lot of tools to get you through life’s challenges. If you’re feeling in a rut or just feeling stuck or need to sort out your thoughts, this is a great app. It is co-designed by therapists, coaches, users and AI people and it is free and anonymous.

Mental health is very important and it is important to be okay and to take care of yourself. If you find yourself in a dark space and unmotivated, I hope you are reaching out and getting the help that you need. Wysa is a great resource but so is professional help. I don’t think that Wysa should replace a therapy option if therapy is what you need. Wysa can be used as a supplement to therapy.

I used to suffer from mild depression and I found myself in a dark place a lot. I can say that I’m no longer in that dark place and I have found that exercising, changing my diet and learning to lead a more positive life has helped a great deal. I also know that it’s okay not to be okay and that you won’t always be happy. And that’s okay, as long as you don’t stay in that negative space.

Thoughts About the App:

Sometimes you have thoughts and no one to talk to and Wysa is there to help you sort out those thoughts. Though it’s programmed, the tips and advice are right on point. It’s not as personable as therapy even though it uses your name. I know that some people have bad experiences with therapy and afraid to go back. But, try again – there are so many therapists in the world. It might just take some time to find the one for you.


When you first start the chat, it does an assessment and will mention if you should see someone as well. The initial chat is very welcoming and I really like the assessments. You feel like you can be as open as you want so you can get to the root cause of what’s bothering you. 


I have been using the app and I really enjoy all the different exercises. The exercises that make me sit still, breathe and let go. the Wysa app have a lot of different exercises from mindfulness, focusing, relaxing, when you’re feeling low and just anything that you can think of. I usually try to use the app at night after the kids have gone to bed so the house is really quiet.


Before the app, I was having dreams of being lost and feeling really unmotivated and just horrible. Dreams of being lost usually means that you’re not sure of the direction of your life. I haven’t had a dream about being lost since using the app. I am learning to reframe my thoughts, building confidence, relaxing, and focus on the things that matter.


This app really helps to put my mind at ease and start thinking more positively about my life. Everyday I feel better able to tackle life’s challenges. I love all the tips, the advice and the information that this app provides. It really helps me to put situations in perspective. 


Wysa is like having your own life coach that you don’t have to pay for. But, the app does have paid life coach options if you want to talk to a human. I am feeling in a much better place, I’m not afraid to seek professional help and I’m learning to not let the stressors of my life to consume me.

I cannot say enough positive things about Wysa. When I notice my 5-year-old getting a little anxious, we use the breathing exercises to relax and calm him.


I only have a few cons regarding this app. I don’t expect for this app to replace therapy or a human. The only thing with the app is that it’s not always perfect with the responses and sometimes misses what you type. For example, I typed, ” I meant Yup ! Sorry ” and it came back with something completely unrelated and just the generated response. It’s not as personable as a therapy session but if you don’t really want to talk to someone, it’s perfect.

The pros definitely outweighs the cons so I definitely think it’s worth checking out!

Ending Words:

I hope that if you are going through a hard time, you find a way to overcome. I know that it’s not just a “get over it situation” and it can be very challenging to pull yourself out of that dark place. I don’t have the answers. I just have a story that I hope will help.

Reach out to someone and seek professional help if need be. If you’re struggling because of social media comparisons, just know that you don’t see the behind the scenes footage.

Wysa is not meant to replace therapy, just a helpful tool to get you through some of life’s challenges.
